What Documents Are Required?

Depending on the circumstances, a foreign individual establishing an LLC in Armenia will generally need:

Can a Foreigner Be the Director of an Armenian Company?

Does Registering a Company Automatically Give You an Armenian Residence Permit?

No.

Registering a company or becoming a shareholder of an Armenian company does not automatically grant a foreign national residence status.

From November 1, 2026, new requirements apply to obtaining Armenian residence status on the basis of entrepreneurial activity.

For a foreign national who is a participant, shareholder or securities holder in a commercial organization, the legislation provides for an investment of at least AMD 2,000,000 in the company's charter capital or the acquisition of shares or securities with a value of at least AMD 2,000,000.

Different requirements apply to an Individual Entrepreneur (IE). The foreign entrepreneur must have at least AMD 1,000,000 in the IE's bank accounts or have generated turnover of at least AMD 1,000,000 from entrepreneurial activity during the 60 days preceding the residence application.

Therefore, if one of your objectives is to obtain residence status in Armenia through business activity, the structure of the business and investment should be considered before registration.
